Medley of Old Traditions and New Trends in Weddings These Days

Wedding Trends

We’ve noticed many wedding traditions in movies—they are a key part of weddings in some cultures. In a few wedding events, the old wedding trends are neglected but the customs are common, whereas, in some other events, the old wedding traditions are as important as the new traditions. There’re so a lot old and new wedding trends found all over the world and all have their own unique attributes.

Here, the wedding planning experts at Wedding Champs shed some light on old and new wedding trends.

and How they can be combined to improve the emotions, enjoyment, and enthusiasm of the wedding event. Check out.

Old Wedding Trends

Misri – In old times, wedding events last three to five days including many wedding traditions. The first one was Misri held many days before the wedding party. In this event, the prayers, flowers and gold rings are exchanged among both groom and bride. Usually, the groom’s family gives misri to the bride hoping great happiness after marriage.

Sangeet party – This event can be taken part alone or joint with Mehendi. It includes singing and dancing of only women from the groom and bride family.

Mehendi – It holds just the day before the wedding day. Only women are invited to put Mehendi and Ubton on the hands and feet of bride wishing her happy life.

Haldi ceremony – One morning of the wedding day, both families spread a mix of haldi, water and oil over bride and groom showering blessings for both.

New wedding trends

Hen party – It is a celebration of freedom with friends on the last night before the wedding day. This event is attached only to the bride and her friends. At day or night, they can plan a great celebration according to their taste.

Bachelor party Despite the anxiousness of the wedding day, farewell is the ideal time the couple has to celebrate the last day of singles and the beginning of a new phase of their lives. It’s a must see! Best of all, the two of you – the groom and the bride – can hold this party.

Bridal shower – You have certainly heard about the famous, old bridal shower of the bride and groom, right? Traditionally, this event is synonymous with fun times and relaxation. Too bad the groom has no turn in bridal shower!

Lingerie tea – As its name already indicates, lingerie tea is a celebration where the bride earns guests’ lingerie and sleepwear, all to put together a brand-new wardrobe of intimate pieces. After all, after the wedding, the bride will not want (and should not!) Continue wearing those old bras and faded panties!

Tea bar – The tea bar is a pre-wedding celebration that definitely does not go unnoticed. This modern trend of pre-wedding celebration is, in fact, more like an exquisite bridal shower, with the big difference that it’s not a women’s party!

Bride & groom dancing together – The first dance is a magical moment and much awaited by the guests, for representing the beginning of the new life, now as husband and wife, where for the first time the couple will appear before the family and their guests.

Family dining – The idea is to put the guests seated on large and long tables, to give that same “family lunch” air. So everyone gets closer and is much more personal than buffet services or small tables with closed groups.

Due to Corona, our Wedding date was decided just a month in advance. Our date could not be changed, and the time was short. Somehow, I stumbled across Maryam’s company. She was Alhumdulillah such a big blessing at that crucial time. She went over and beyond her role. From finding a great venue to negotiating an excellent rate with the organisers and a custom menu, she managed everything. Thank you so much Maryam.

Maryam proactively supported us in finding our Wedding venue. She is enthusiastic, listens to your concerns and challenges and works accordingly. Her negotiation skills are fab! She got us the best deal and ensured everything went smooth till the day of the event. I’d totally recommend her especially if you’re short on time or do not want to go through the hassle of contacting every vendor with your queries. Thank you for handling this for us.
